The Vache Baroque Festival invites young pianists aged 15 – 18 to apply for our masterclass exploring the music of J. S. Bach’s ‘The Well-Tempered Clavier’ Book 1 and ‘Notebooks for Anna Magdalena’.
The course will be led by acclaimed Bach pianist and experienced teacher Libby Burgess and will comprise individual lessons, group sessions, historical analysis discussions and talks, and a public masterclass where each pianist will play a Book 1 prelude and/or fugue.
All activities will take place within the beautiful Vache house, which has several pianos including a Steinway B grand. We are offering travel bursaries for participants if needed.
Several students may be chosen to perform at Conway Hall alongside Libby and other leading performers on Saturday 19 November.
To apply, we’re asking young pianists to submit a video of them playing any piece by J. S. Bach and a short piece of writing (500 words max) or another video (2 mins max) telling us about their musical journey and what they hope to gain from this day.
If you have any questions, please contact us. We’d be more than happy to hear from you.
